OMNIFLIGHT HELICOPTERS, INC. ACQUIRES AIRLINK, INC. OF IDAHO FALLS, IDAHOOctober 6, 2008 ADDISON, Tex. … Oct. 6, 2008 … Omniflight Helicopters, Inc., a leading national provider of air medical services, announced today that it has acquired Airlink, Inc. of Idaho Falls, the aviation services provider for Air Idaho Rescue the air medical program operated by Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC). Concurrent with the acquisition, Omniflight converted the Air Idaho Rescue (A.I.R.) program to an Omniflight-operated community-based model. As such, Omniflight will provide air medical transport services to communities in eastern Idaho, southwestern Montana and western Wyoming through this program, complementing efforts of local emergency medical services teams, fire and rescue departments, the National Park Service, local authorities and officials. A.I.R., established in 1990 to meet the needs of patients across Eastern Idaho, Northwest Wyoming and Southwest Montana, is accredited through the Commission of Air Medical Transport Services (CAMTS). A.I.R. operates an Agusta A109K2, a premier mountain rescue helicopter. The A109K2 offers unprecedented power, speed, and safety, particularly at high altitudes. A.I.R. is the first North American operator of the A109K2, a twin engine; turbine powered helicopter that is IFR equipped. Lee McCammon, vice president of Omniflight’s western region, commented on the acquisition: “We are excited to welcome the A.I.R. program into our growing network and are committed to continuing the provision of safe, appropriate care and transport of critically ill or injured patients. Each flight carries a registered nurse and paramedic team that cares for all patients transported by A.I.R. In addition, A.I.R. is flown by seasoned pilots that are highly trained and committed to safety above all else. The acquisition of A.I.R. allows us to extend the support of a national leader such as Omniflight to the Idaho Falls area.” Employees of A.I.R. will continue to stay on with Omniflight so as not to interrupt service, care or support to the local community.
